Industrial Yarn and Thread
The Industrial Yarn and Thread Division of Charles Craft manufactures multi-ply cotton, polyester and poly/cotton yarns and threads
for markets such as industrial
fabrics weaving, narrow fabrics weaving, carpet backing, tufting yarns and bag closure sewing thread. The division also buys and reprocesses a line of imported
yarns from countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia and Argentina to offer competitive alternatives.
The plant, located in Siler City, North Carolina, can provide coarse counts at 12/1 and under in both Ring Spun and Open End and plied
from 2 ply up to 10 ply.
Large knotless packages with up to 10 pound traverses weighing 20 pounds are a specialty.
High Performance Yarn and Fabric
Our High Performance Yarn and Fabric Division offers yarns, sewing threads and fabric primarily for the protective apparel and heat resistant market. Aramid fibers
such as Kevlar, Twaron, Nomex, Conex and PBI are spun on the most modern equipment available in the world and yarns are offered in counts ranging from 4/1 to 50/1
and multiplies are also available. Cut-resistance as well as flame-resistance are the primary features of the yarns and fabrics produced by this division. Typical
end uses include cut resistant glove and apparel products, high tensile strength sewing threads, heat-resistant yarns for belting and industrial weaving
applications and flame-resistant commercial and military apparel fabric.
Dyed Yarn
Charles Craft's Dyed Yarn Division is capable of dyeing cotton, polyester, poly/cotton blends, aramids, rayon, acrylics and nylon for
other textile weavers and
knitters. Many types of cotton dyeing are available including vats, fiber reactives and directs. The division prides itself on
excellent quality and remarkable
service which is most important in the dyed yarn market.
